The movie, which was screened on Netflix, is directed by Romain Gavras, the son of the famous Greek-French master director Costa-Gavras. In the script of this third feature film of Gavras, There is a collaboration with French director Ladj Ly (The 2019 film Les misérables, which also deals with the suburbs of Paris), who won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for a BAFTA. Presenting a dramatic and chaotic narrative of social unrest in the Paris suburbs, the production tells a kind of story that frames street conflict as an archetypal Ancient Greek tragedy. Stating that the movie was designed like an opera and the choreography was arranged accordingly, the director says that before the shooting began, the cast and production team rehearsed outside the French capital (without CGI) for 52 days.
